HOLA! Super excited to get this post up today!! I have been leaking all kinds of spoilers on my Instagram about this project – I just haven’t been able to help myself! Working with the Hilger’s was an absolute joy. Not only because we’ve known each other since the dinosaurs roamed the earth BUT also because they both have great taste and full trust in the work we were going to do!
Their vision was clear and concise which always helps when narrowing down a clients overall aesthetic and we moved quickly through the concept board and spec board stages. We were lucky enough to work with local vendors and independent designers to create several aspects of this design which both the clients and I were very proud to be able to do.
So without further ado – lets dive right in:

We used plenty of textured neutrals and mixed in gentle patterns to create a textile scheme that really carried the rooms modern bohemian vibe. Brass details in the lighting and drawer pulls add a depth and warmth needed to contrast against the other dark details found throughout the room.
The bench was sourced from the fantastic team over at Rad Weld Customs – who worked with us to custom finish the legs in brass. We chose to use a slow staining process on the bench top with an unexpected deep black ash which lets the natural wood grain show through.
We carried over the same brass and black details to the other side of the room to ensure consistency in the space. The room has no built in lighting so we brought in this fantastic industrial standing lamp and several large mirrors to offer plenty of light throughout. Family photos in floating frames which can be swapped in and out ensure the room is a personal space for this growing family.
This design project couldn’t have been more fun to work on and I think we nailed the clients own vision to create a space that reflects their lifestyle and aesthetic.
It does look like they are enjoying the space!!
